About The Rebel
I never thought I’d see her again.
We shared one hot night together back in college before our paths took us in different directions.
But now, the most brilliant and beautiful woman I’ve ever met is back in my life. And the chemistry I remember? It’s more combustible than ever.
Except… our fling is forbidden and must exist only in secret. Her rules, not mine.
I can’t be her forever. I’m not that guy, and even she knows it.
But I can’t stay away from her either. I’m determined to claim not just her body but her heart, even if that’s the one thing she’s vowed not to give me.

I liked the book overall. Yet, There were moments where I felt it dragged on a bit. The climax was a bit underwhelming and I felt like the characters were a bit boring.
Love all her books..
Read the first few chapters, at first the main character appears to be strong and smart and level headed. Then she just ups and does a complete 180 in a totally toxic move (Alex seriously?). Got bored by chapter 5.
My favorite by Ryan so far.
An incredible second chance romance by Kendall Ryan! Her books are fantastic and this one I could not put down! Loved the characters and the storyline!! Amazing!! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is book one in the Looking to Score series and it features Eden and Holt. They shared one sinfully sexy night in college. Six years later and they haven’t seen each other since that night, he’s been hired as her bodyguard. The sparks are definitely still flying between them. Holt appears to be a super alpha man but when it comes to Eden, it’s almost as if he’s lost his man card. He’s like a sappy, lovesick teenager. She acts more mature about her feelings for him. The story line was great. Most of the characters were fantastic. I wish Holt was more manly when it came to any kind of interaction with Eden. There was a lot of information lacking in Alex’s story. I can’t wait to fill in the blanks in book two.
I thought this story was well written and well developed. I loved the story line and the characters. Overall, I enjoyed the book and I look forward to reading more by this author. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The Rebel is a second chance romance between Eden and Holt. During college Eden spent one night with Holt but decided to have a relationship with Alex, a bad boy hockey player. The relationship did not last and years later Holt comes back when Eden hires his security organization to help protect her as the owner of a hockey team. This book has interesting characters with a story line of correcting a mistake which changes ones life. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Okay, so I love a good hockey romance, and author Kendall Ryan has proven that she's great with those. But she's already written a whole team's worth in her Hot Jocks series, so what, I wondered, would be left to say? Well, let me just tell you that she showed me, because I thoroughly enjoyed Holt's and Eden's story in THE REBEL, and am completely on board to see what's next. One of my favorite things about this book is that, rather than jump right into the players' stories, Kendall started with Eden's. As the heiress to the Boston Titans, Eden Wynn has got plenty working against her. Young, beautiful, and with plenty to prove to fans, players, and herself, Eden's got her work cut out for her as far as owning a professional hockey team goes. When you add in the fact that her hockey playing ex is on the team, things are bound to get tricky. But Eden's armed with determination, grit, and support in the person of Holt Rossi. Holt Rossi is a blast from the past that Eden was not expecting. Their shared history is short, but one that neither has ever forgotten. And as Holt, responsible for Eden's security, spends more time with Eden, the feelings that have never really gone away prove to be stronger than ever. The fact that I really liked both Eden and Hold made this book even more enjoyable for me. And, while it is the first book in a sports romance series, Kendall makes THE REBEL much more about two people helping each other become the best versions of themselves, and that personal connection is what really makes the story for me. THE REBEL is a solid 4 star read for me, and, given the hints left at the end of the book, I'm looking very forward to THE RIVAL, which is Alex's and Aspen's book. In the meantime, pick up THE REBEL and enjoy. ❤️
I love this book. Holt and Eden are amazing together. These two characters were classmates in college and had an amazing night. This is a second chance romance. This type of trope isn’t my favorite but Kendall Ryan made it work. Eden is a hockey team heiress and the new head of a hockey team. Holt has been hired to secure Eden from some added security. Plus Eden’s ex is one of the hockey players on the team. This story is steamy, angst, and sweet. There is a good amount of drama without being dramatic. This is a great read I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I literally read the book in one day , wayyyy too good to not read in just one day . Can’t wait for part 2 !!
Loving the start to this new series from Kendall! In college, Eden made a decision to go after the most popular jock at school, and as she finally attempts to make her move, she finds him with another girl. Holt runs into her and they end up spending the night together, finding chemistry they’ve never had with anyone else, but it scares her, and he wakes up the next morning to a note saying that night was a mistake. Years later, Eden has ended up with that popular jock, although after years of being together end up broken up thanks to his cheating, and she’s taking over her dream job as owner of the hockey team her ex was just traded to. With the public upset over her new role, the organization hires security, which is what Holt has established and been up to since college. When Eden realizes who Holt is, she starts to realize that maybe he wasn’t the mistake all those years ago and that rather her decision to go after the popular guy was. With the chemistry still there, these two initially fight their feelings but finally give in, and it’s a great storyline from there. I love that these two are able to get to know each other and understand each other while also being able to support and help the other work through things better than they would alone and taking Holt out of his shell he’s been in so long. I loved this couple and was so happy got their HEA! The ending of this book though is what shocked me because of who’s involved in the next installment and it made me so excited for the next book! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I really have fallen for this author don’t even get me started on her characters. I can’t wait to see what else she does!
I really enjoyed reading Holt & Eden’s story as they maneuvered through some unique obstacles toward love. It was refreshing for the hero to be the “one left behind” for once. But Holt is a hunky, brawny type of guy with a big heart which makes him a true gentle giant and I love his character. Eden is a very lovely yet determined young woman who really struggles with facing the challenges in her life but rest assured she will overcome. All in all a good start to this new hockey series by the very talented Kendall Ryan. Looking forward to Alex’s book.
Eden and Holt meet in college. She is crushing on Alex who is a bug time player and Holt lives in the same frat house as a tutor/grounds keeper for the frat. At a party Eden decides to make her move but another girls moves in first. Eden ends up spending a few hours in Holts room first talking then moving to more intimate things. She leaves during the night leaving a note saying it was a mistake, eventually starting to date Alex. 6 years later Holt and Eden are brought back together when, after her grandfather dies, she inherits his NHL team and needs extra security (Holt’s company) because the fans don’t want her as owner. Her relationship with Alex ended a few months before and before her grandfather died he signed Alex to the team. Things are very complicated for Eden, especially since the attraction between her and Holt is off the charts. Can 2 people from very different lifestyles not only overcome that but the media/fans reactions, their dysfunctional families and her ex to get a hea that she then away years before? Kendall scores a hat trick with this second chance hockey romance. I loved Eden and Holt’s chemistry from that one night in college to their reunion years later. Their chemistry is off the charts. It is great that they are so open about each of their backgrounds and the status isn’t a real issue, although they both acknowledge it, you can’t change who you love. Eden is such a strong, independent heroine that seeing her rely on and look to Holt is amazing. If you like a book with strong characters and some steam you will enjoy this one. I didn’t love this book and much as I thought I would. The story didn’t have much depth.
Sneaking out after spending an intimate night with the brooding bad boy was the biggest mistake that Eden had ever made. She went straight into the arms of the Golden Boy/Hockey God even though she witnessed what a “player” he was. She spent 5 years putting him first, relocating every time he was traded, only for him to break her heart, claiming that he wanted space to explore what was out there. Eden’s grandfather died, leaving her the owner of his NHL team right after Alex was traded to the same team. To make matters worse, the hockey community doesn’t think a young woman is qualified to be the owner of a hockey team and a Security Contractor is engaged to keep her safe. Who would own the company other than Holt, the bad boy she hooked up with five years earlier. Eden begins to learn that her heart would have been safer with Holt, even though he had seemed the bad boy at the time. This book gives us that Happily Ever After we crave as we follow Holt and Eden navigating the hurt they both experienced as a result of their past together and apart. The moral of this story would be to get to know someone on the inside rather than judge them based on their exterior, which is a good lesson on any day. Additionally, no one should determine their own worth based on who their parents are or how much money they earn. This story was easy to read and Ms. Ryan wrote the characters as well-rounded people with both strengths and weaknesses. The secondary characters only added to the book and I would be surprised if there weren’t more stories to come with this bunch. I am looking forward to whatever comes next. This is a sports romance must read but Holt is not even a player and I love t! Eden and Holt has a past history and when they reconnect the chemistry is still there. What happens next was sweet, steamy and oh so good. I enjoyed the easy to read storyline with a sweet chemistry between the characters to have you cheering for their HEA.
*Spoilers* The Rebel is just so sweet and will hook you from the start. It’s impossible not to love Holt and Eden’s story! The first six chapters of The Rebel are the same as One Night With The Rebel, but I found myself rereading those chapters to really be able to get into the book. First, there’s Holt, and he is the loner who came a troubled family life but rose to become owner of a security business. Then, there’s Eden. She also came from a troubled, albeit wealthy, family background and takes over her grandfather’s professional hockey team when he passes. Their tale begins back in college when they share one passionate night. Sadly for Holt, Eden takes off and leaves him the morning after. Eden winds up dating Alex, the playboy hockey player, for years before he breaks her heart eventually. When Holt and Eden meet again, it’s 6 years after their one night together and Holt is the head of Eden’s security. The book follows their meeting again and falling in love. I absolutely love these characters! They’re both well developed and genuine, and I found myself interested in not just their relationship with one another but with them individually, too. Their relationship is slow to build, but in the end that made for a deeper connection with the characters. Also, they are so sweet with each other, and I really just kept hoping for the best for them. The Rebel is the first in this series, and I can’t wait for the next book! It’s a sweet love story you won’t be able to put down! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I liked this as a series starter, but not so much as a standalone romance. We meet a bunch of new characters - intriguing hockey players, friends, and co-workers - all of whom should make for interesting future reads. I just think that this particular love story got lost in the shuffle, and I ended up liking some of the other characters better. The first 25% or so is what used to be the prequel novella, One Night with the Rebel, which I had already read and found disappointing. I was really looking forward to more time spent developing Holt and Eden's relationship in the present, but the focus just wasn't on them until the back half. And Eden doesn't treat Holt (a kind, supportive guy) all that well. So it certainly wasn't bad and I'm excited to check out more of the series, but I can't say that Holt and Eden's love story really won me over. The story follows Holt and Eden, two people who went to college together. Holt had a crush on Eden at the time, but the broody loner never considered himself to be good enough for her - she comes from a very wealthy family, and she's intelligent, sexy, and sweet. Eden was always more focused on Alex, the golden boy and hockey star. So even though Holt and Eden shared one night together, Eden quickly returned her interest to Alex. Six years later, and it's become clear that her decision might not have been the best one. Alex broke Eden's heart, Holt has only gotten better with age, and now Eden has to see both guys every day at work. Acting on her attraction to Holt would be nothing but complicated, but Eden can't seem to stay away. This author's books are always light, steamy, quick reads, and this was another one. There are plenty of sexy moments, and it does stay low angst overall, even with the forbidden nature of their relationship. I wish that Holt and Eden's history was a little less problematic for me, because it was a definite turnoff and I struggled with Eden a lot. It felt like she used Holt frequently, and didn't always take his feelings into consideration. Their relationship felt very rushed, and certain elements were glossed over in a big way - even more than what you'd expect from such a short book. The author just had a lot to accomplish in this one introductory story, so a few things could've been developed better. I'm curious about Alex, and I haven't decided whether I think he's the good kind of jerk or not - we'll see. I do love the potential in some of the other characters, so this is successful in getting me interested in more. I received an early copy and am voluntarily leaving a review of this second chance sports romance.
I really enjoyed The Rebel by Kendall Ryan. Eden was in love with bad boy Alex in college and that is who she thought she belonged with. But during a college party, she has an encounter with Holt but was gone the next morning. Holt never got over that night. Years later, Eden and Alex have broken up and Alex is now a player for the hockey team Eden has inherited from her grandfather. To make the situation even more awkward, after Eden receives threats as the new team owner, a new security team is hired to protect her with Holt becoming her new bodyguard. As Eden spends more time with Holt, she realizes she made a mistake all those years ago by leaving Holt. Will this be Holt and Eden's second chance? Looking forward to Alex and Aspen's story next! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is one of those books where both main characters are amazing. Okay, so I was judging Eden, at first, for wanting someone who was so much like her dad, but she grew on me. Her strength really developed throughout the book. And I liked the way she and Holt reconnected. I thought that was a fun way to bring them back into each other’s lives. The emotions between them were palpable. I worried that Holt’s self-consciousness about his background would become a problem. I’m glad it wasn’t, but at the same time would have liked a bit more of an obstacle for them to overcome, because I believe they could have. I’m looking forward to the next ones in the series, but Kendall Ryan will have her work cut out for her if she wants me to root for Alex.
Wow! I have been anxiously waiting to read this since I read “One Night With The Rebel.” And this story definitely didn’t disappoint. I loved this second chance romance with these two opposites, full of sizzling attraction, passion, and romance. I was addicted from the first page to the last. Sweet, swoony, and emotional perfection. Eden Wynn has become the youngest as well as the first female owner of a Major Hockey team after the death of her grandfather. But with protests and threats coming in from fans the team has decided to hire a security detail for her. Holt Rossi. Six years ago Eden Wynn came into Holt Rossi’s world and turned everything upside down only to disappear in the morning. So, with their sizzling attraction stronger than it ever was, how will Eden and Holt navigate being in such close quarters day and night. Well you will need to read to find out! Delicious. Delightful. Not to be missed! Received an early copy from the author for a honest review.
3⭐️⭐️⭐️ Style: Contemporary Romance Story: 3/5 Enjoyment: 3/5 Dark Level: 0/5 Sexual Level: OK-GOOD Triggers: No Violence: No Male: Sexy and Protective Series: Book 1 Pages: loc. 3263 Audio: N/A Kindle Unlimited: No STORY: This for me was a likable story. I enjoyed both characters, especially Holt. Although, I like the story and I thought it was a sweet second chance romance; it didn’t blow me away. I liked that the story took us from that particular moment from their college years, bringing us to 6 years later. Holt for me was everything. He struggles to play it cool while still pining for Eden. He never thought he was good enough as he isn’t from money. Eden remembers Holt and tries to keep her distance at first while dealing with the stress of becoming the youngest person to own a sports team, but she finally gives in to Holt. I would say this was a sports adjacent romance. It’s not hardcore sports romance as Holt isn’t a player. CHEMISTRY: Holt’s and Eden’s physical chemistry is likable. I would have liked a little more at certain scenes, however, I was still satisfied. SECONDARY CHARACTERS It was interesting getting to see some team players. I see the next book in the series will be Alex and Aspen. Alex is Eden’s ex, and I wasn’t a fan so let’s see and Aspen, Eden’s assistant. Aspen didn’t have a major role, so I know little about her. Overall, a likable and sweet second chance at romance book and looking forward to seeing where this series goes. ***I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read and hope this review was helpful. I really enjoyed this second chance romance between Holt and Eden. They had one almost night back in college but Holt’s crush on Eden never went away even though years have past. Now Holt is back in Eden’s life when she needs security in her new job as a hockey team owner. Eden never forgot her night with Holt either and always wonders what could have been. But with Holt her “employee” she worries what this would look like to fans of the hockey team, her being a young, female owner and the fans already not happy about that. And also her ex boyfriend is a hockey player on the team.. The chemistry and attraction between Holt and Eden is there from the get go and it is still as hot as it was back in college. This is the start to a new series and I am excited for more of this team.
This story takes place in two different periods, the first is the college years and then 6 years later in the aftermath, after college. It is sort of a love triangle but very slightly I guess. The girl in question is Eden and she had a crush on Alex in college when she meets Holt. Holt and her have a one night of connection when the next day she pretends it didn't happen and she ends up dating Alex for several years before they break up. The main story picks up 6 years later and her and Alex is history, but now Eden has a hockey team she needs to turn into a winning team and Alex is part of that team. She ends up hiring Holt as security for her as the team manager an so the connection is still there. However its very much a forbidden romance as she feels the world would look down on her dating Holt. But these two have an extremely strong connection, more so now as adults. It was a fun story and I liked Holt and Eden a lot. I enjoyed watching them flirt and circle each other and their shenanigans. I received a free ARC copy of this book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
